| One of my favorite FD posters. Notice the scumming on the bottom from Wes Wilson's printing press. Love the design! This event later caused Chet Helms to part his association with Bill Graham and start the Avalon Ballroom. Seems Bill got up earlier than Chet and booked the band back into the Fillmore behind Chet's back before he ever woke up the next day. Not a cool thing to do in Chet's opinion and very un-hippie like, since Chet had introduced the Band to Bill and helped Bill jointly put on this first show. |
